Analysis Summary Report:
To determine whether there was a relationship between feelings towards liberals and
beliefs regarding homosexual persons’ rights to marry a linear regression was
performed. The regression was statistically significant where a = .05, df = 8.301, p < .001, r^2 = .022. This indicates that there is a positive, significant linear relationship between feelings towards liberals and beliefs regarding homosexual persons’ rights to marry. This is a small relationship but one that should be noted. The regression equation is y = . 0083x + 1.5446. While there is a small significant relationship, it is not large enough to use in day-to-day life. These findings show that the relationship between feelings towards liberals and beliefs about gay marriage are small. This indicates that political non-profits may see a small difference in public perception based upon political beliefs and sexual orientation but it is not large enough to use for advertising purposes.
