Scholarly Works Synthesis Assignment Instructions
Overview
The literature review is a process where the researcher synthesizes current research and scholarly literature to identify historical aspects of the topic, common trends, and current implications of the proposed research. The literature review should address the cause(s) of the problem or topic, elaborate on the current state of the literature regarding the problem or topic, and present prior solutions to the problem or research questions. This assignment provides the opportunity to practice locating, analyzing, and synthesizing current peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles.
Instructions
For this assignment, you will locate two current (published within the past five years) peer-reviewed journal articles related to your research topic. You will complete the Individual Scholarly Works Template for each article. Then, you will complete the Comparative Scholarly Works template using the two articles. This comparison is where you will write using your voice, as the researcher.
· The first page should be a correctly formatted (current APA edition) title page that includes the title of your study written as required in the textbook.
· A total of three forms must be completed in this one assignment. The first two forms are the Individual Template (one template needs to be completed for each of the two articles), and the third form is the Comparative Template where you will compare and contrast the two articles. You will only analyze and compare two journal articles in this paper. You must use the templates.
· The last page should be a correctly formatted reference page that contains the two peer-reviewed journal articles.
Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.
